I obtained my bachelor’s degree at the Universita` Politecninca delle Marche in 2017 and then moved to the Universita degli Studi di Pavia where I recently graduated with a Master’s in Molecular Biology and Genetics. I spent two years in the developmental biology laboratory of the University for my thesis and I gained interest and experience in working with mouse oocytes, investigating asymmetric cell division.  I initially joined the Mogessie lab in 2019 for research experience in a wide range of techniques ranging from standard molecular biology methods to advanced microscopy to explore meiosis in mammalian oocytes and eggs. My research visit was funded firstly by an Erasmus scholarship and later through a Travelling Fellowship from the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). After a year of exciting research experience, I started my PhD through Wellcome Trust funding in October 2020.
